Founded by Hix Bondurant
Fresh out of World War II, Hix Bondurant came back to the states and
set out to accomplish two things:
- Win the heart of his longtime crush, Lil
- Start a successful business
He was successful in both endeavors.
With the help of a small loan from his aunt, Hix founded the company (then Bondurant Insurance) in
May of 1947. That June, he married his sweetheart, Lil.
Both his family and his business grew; they each became a lifelong love affair. At home, he and Lil raised four children. At work, the insurance company expanded into real estate (first sales, then development, and then rentals). Hix spearheaded many projects that have helped to shape the local landscape, including (but aren’t limited to) the development of:
- College Park, Forest Park, and Hickory Hills
subdivisions - College Park and Cedar Ridge Townhomes
- Cedar Valley Apartments
Real Estate Sales and Rentals
Hix’s vision has become today’s reality. We now have a full-time real estate sales team, as well as a property management team. Our sales team boasts decades of experience and local-specific knowledge in both residential and commercial sales throughout the New River Valley. Our rental team manages over 400 residential and student rental units. Three generations of Bondurants have now had a hand running the family business.
In addition to housing services, Hix believed the company should be a good citizen of the community. Bondurant Realty actively supports
